Patents were acquired and the pool table was ready to hit the road, debuting on the Steve Allen television show in 1970, followed by the show What’s My Line? several years later. The Los Angeles Times, CBS, Popular Mechanics, and many more soon also wanted a piece of the pie. The original table was 8’ in diameter, with pockets set an inch back from conventional specifications and was constructed on a piece of cloth-covered plywood and masonite.
